December 2009

December was a busy month as it is for most. Family, parties and presents!
First Olivia turned 4 months on the 3rd of December. At her 4 month check up she was off the charts for her height measurement - 27 inches tall (100+%) - the doc said she was the size of an 8 month old!! Wow - watch out Dominic your sister is gonna catch up to you soon :) Her weight was 15 pounds (92%).
Dominic had a great Christmas! He really got into Santa coming to our house and leaving some presents. He got lots of new toys!
I ended up getting the flu on xmas eve and was sick for the next 6 days - that was rough with a toddler and new baby!

Olivia's 2 month check up!

Today Olivia had her 2 month well baby check up and she is going great! She is growing very well, almost too well, lol. She is smiling a lot and loves to hear her mommy, daddy and big brother talk to her. She is sleeping very well which is different for me. I am use to a baby that doesn't sleep so it has been nice. Last night she slept the best ever! She went to sleep at 9:30, woke up at 3:30 for a feeding and then slept until 8:30!! And she is actually sleeping in her crib at night which is nice because Dominic never did. Finally a baby that is getting some use out of our crib :) That makes me very happy.
Here are her stats from her appointment today: height is over the 95 percentile at 25 inches and her weight in 92% at 12.3 lbs and her head was 39 3/4 cm (I didn't get the % for that one). The doctor said she is perfect!

The c-section went great and baby Olivia is perfect!!
We are so happy she is here and healthy. Dominic has taken well to her for the most part. He has a few moments (in the middle of the night) when he has said "Olivia back in Mommy's tummy....that was really hard for me to hear. But I know he needs time to adjust - which he is - he hasn't made a comment like that again :)
He loves to kiss her and hug her all the time!
My recovery has been great! I think this time I am recovering even faster, if that is possible, than last time. I think I was made to have c-sections. It's not even been 1 week and I am already off the pain meds.

Dominic's 2nd Birthday Party

Today we celebrated Dominic's birthday a few days early before his sister's arrival. We celebrated with family and friends and cake and ice cream!


This was his favorite present of the day along with his toy weed wacker!


Dominic loves his new motorcycle so much he didn't want to get off it to open more presents. So we brought the presents to him while he sat on his "cycle".
