Big Brother
Dominic is going to be a Big Brother! John and I were very surprised by our Christmas present this year. We found out the week before Christmas and decided to tell everyone on Christmas. We didn't want to wait the 3 months - it's too exciting of news.
I bought Dominic a "Big Brother" shirt and had him wear it to our family get togethers on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. We thought our families would catch on a little faster than they did!! We had to bring it to there attention after a while. Everyone was SO excited!!
I don't have an official due date yet but is it August 5th - the day before Dominic's 2nd birthday. My first doctor appointment is Jan. 6th. I will update it then if needed.
We hope everyone had a happy holiday with their loved ones like we did.
Take care.

Halloween!!
Here he is trick or treating. He knew exactly what to do. He would hold his pumpkin up to the person at the door and most of the time he would continue to hold it up after he got his treats....wanting them to put m MORE treats in his pumpkin.

Laura and Dan's Wedding

My cousin Laura got married this weekend in Nevada City. She was such a beautiful bride! It was a great wedding! They got married at a summer camp called Camp Augusta. We had planned to camp in a tent with Dominic for the first time but....it was FREEZING! So we packed up and headed home after Dominic had too much dancing and passed out. Thanks to the Shadys & O'Dairs for putting on a great wedding.

Our wonderful Winston
Today is the 2 year anniversary of Winston's departure from this earth. For those of you who knew him, knew what a great dog he was and knew how special he was to us. Winston was such a great doggie. We loved him so much. Not a day goes by that John and I don't think of him. We often reminisce of times we shared with our Winston. He was 16 years old when he died and he spent the last 6 of his years with us - the best years of his life! We spoiled Winston to no end and always adjusted our lives around him. I know that may sound crazy to some of you but Winston was basically our first child - he was as much a part of our family as anyone.
Just this side of heaven is a place called When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to | |
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart. Then you cross Author unknown... |

Incline Village

We spent this past weekend in Lake Tahoe in Incline Village with my family. We all had a great time! This was Dominic's first time touching the sand on the beach. It was very cold and windy when we were down by the water but Dominic didn't care -- HE LOVED IT!!

Grandpa
Lamaze BBQ
Saturday we hosted the "Lamaze BBQ" for this month. We have kept in contact with 5 other couples and their children, all of whom are within 4 weeks of Dominic's age. It is so fun to watch all these beautiful babies grow up!! Can you all believe our "babies" are over a year old!! Here is a picture of the kids...

Thanks to all of you that donated to the FFR CatWalk 2008! We collected a lot of money for a great cause. Here is Dominic getting ready for the 5k walk.
